Team BMC successfully achieved all objectives at Mont-Sainte-Anne, the final World Cup of the season

Titouan Carod delivered an outstanding performance, securing a remarkable fourth-place finish in the last World Cup race of the season. Competing on his favorite course, the French national champion achieved his best result of the entire season. Nor far behind him, Jordan Sarrou maintained his second position in the overall World Series classification.

Juri Zanotti also had a standout performance, achieving his best-ever World Cup result in his career by finishing 11th.

Carod's performance on his beloved Canadian course was remarkable, and he expressed his happiness with his fourth-place finish. He said: "I am very happy because I had a challenging season. I won two World Cups last season, including one here in Canada, but this year I have struggled a lot.”

“Today, I had an excellent start and overtook a lot of riders in the first downhill section. I really enjoy the course here in Mont-Sainte-Anne, so returning to the podium here brings me immense joy."

Sarrou, who had earlier in the weekend secured another XCC podium finish with a second place, faced mechanical issues in the first lap, resulting in a challenging day of pursuit. His primary goal was to maintain his second-place ranking in the overall classification.

In the final lap, last week's World Cup winner managed to overtake several competitors to secure ninth place, just enough to secure the silver medal on the final podium of the season. Sarrou said: "What a race. I had a tough start, but luckily I found my rhythm later on, and fortunately, I finished in the top 10."

He continued: “Securing second place in the overall classification is incredible. At the start of the season, I would have very much accepted this, especially considering my challenging start to the season with a finger injury. The battle for the GC was intense right until the end here in Canada. I am proud of the entire team; we've had an incredible journey together."

Another remarkable result came from Zanotti, the Italian Team BMC pilot, who crossed the finish line just behind Sarrou, achieving his career-best finish in a World Cup. He expressed his excitement, saying: "I am so happy with this result. I knew I had the strength to achieve something like this, but actually accomplishing it is fantastic. I believe it's a special day for the entire team, with Carod finishing fourth and Jordan claiming second in the GC. We can take pride in what we've accomplished together this year."

Zanotti also praised the Mont-Saint-Anne track, describing it as beautiful, and credited the choice of Pirelli tires for his comfort throughout the challenging course, especially with the rain throughout the day.

Earlier on that Sunday, Janis Baumann participated in the Men U23 race and secured the 31st spot, a result that left him slightly disappointed. Similarly, Steffi Häberlin faced a challenging day on the course and expressed her disappointment after the race.

Häberlin admitted: “I struggled on the track today, and I wasn't feeling my best. The start went well, but afterward, I couldn't find my rhythm. I'm looking forward to the off-season now."

Baumann reflected on his race, saying: “I haven't been able to regain my top form fully since my illness in Andorra, and luck wasn't on my side today. I did enjoy the track, especially the downhill sections, but the result didn't quite meet my expectations."

Both riders shared the joy of their elite teammates, celebrating the results of Carod, Sarrou and Zanotti.

With the season concluding after Mont-Saint-Anne, the World Cup victory by Sarrou in the previous weekend stood out as a significant highlight. Zanotti's season is not over yet, as he is set to compete in the Japan MTB Cup later this month in Izu, a race he won last year.
